Here is a recording of Jerry Smithwick. The date I have is 13th July 1966, but I am not sure of this. He is identifying as Britain Radio England and plays a promotion saying that Swinging Radio England will be on soon. Is this when they had transmitter problems??? If this is the case then it may well be that this recording is from June 1966. I am not sure. Anyway have a listen;

On 19-06-1966 Britain Radio and Radio England started with regular programs. Maybe a test transmission before this date?

Don't think so. It does seem like July as the Georgie Fame song that he plays was number 1 in July.

The 14:48-15:06 part is already in my archive and the date mentioned there is 13.07.1966. That's the same date as you think Scotty.

I had a look at the printed "A radio Rose of Texas, the 5 of the Olga Patricia."

The three files are listed there as July 17 1966. That seems to be the day the first Gary Stevens show was aired.

In the last part of the first file however Jerry says `Wednesdayafternoon`,it should be July 13th.

Just before Jerry telling it's Wednesday there is a gap in the recording. Theoretically this last part can be pasted from a different show and the date can be July 17.

I think we will never be sure.
