Morgenavond staan de Rolling Stones op Glastonbury. Afgelopen week zond de BBC een aantal programma's over de bandleden uit. Reden genoeg dus om ze maar even te bundelen.

At Home with Keith Richards

Ahead of The Rolling Stones' appearance at Glastonbury, another chance to hear Keith Richards talking to Paul Sexton about his incredible life and times in the relaxed surroundings of his own living room.

Sexton has interviewed Richards, and his fellow Stones, on countless occasions over the past 15 years and this is reflected in the candid and often amusing nature of the exchange. Keith vividly describes controversial moments, memorable encounters, guitar heroes and proud achievements - including a memoir that debuted at No. 1 on the New York Times Best Sellers list.

Richards describes his house and surroundings as he sits in front of a portrait of himself, revealing that it was created and then presented to him by a close, and very famous, friend. He discusses his devotion to the guitar, including the surprising confession: "I'm not a lead guitar player, basically, and never wanted to be". He also talks about his all-time favourite players: "I wanted to meet Scottty Moore more than I wanted to meet Elvis Presley." He also remembers the solo on a Stones classic that was critiqued by a certain good friend called John Lennon.

The wide-ranging chat also covers the first record Keith ever bought, comic escapades on the road, his adulation of icons from Robert Johnson to Chuck Berry, how the Stones continue to extend the frontiers as rock's ultimate survivors and his thoughts on Mick Jagger, his creative partner for half a century.

The programme is packed with colourful stories of an unparalleled life and illustrated with some of the best music of the past 50 years, made both by Keith and some of his own idols.

Afgelopen nacht was er blijkbaar nog een docu, toevallig opgenomen dus bij deze.

As the veteran rockers make their debut at Glastonbury, another chance to hear Jerry Hall's examination of the way The Rolling Stones earned their reputation as one of the world's greatest rock 'n' roll bands.

Playing live has been the fuel that has driven The Rolling Stones for 50 years, as they progressed from small London clubs to the world's largest arenas, with "the road" their home away from home.

This programme features interviews with people who have been fortunate enough to live and work with The Rolling Stones while on tour, including Harold Pendleton, founder of The Marquee; Marshall Chess, President of Rolling Stones records; Sam Cutler, tour manager in the 60s and 70s; Albert Maysles director of Gimme Shelter; photographer Ethan Russell; Georgia Bergman, the Stones PA from 67- 72; Ron Schneider, The Stones Business Manager; authors Stanley Booth, Robert Greenfield and Michael Lydon.

We also hear from promoter John Giddings, who brought the Rolling Stones back to the Isle of Wight in 2007. He reveals the logistics of taking a massive tour on the road, as 130 stage crew get 400 tonnes of gear stacked in to 120 lorries and 12 tour buses from one city to the next.

Leuk,

Op 8 maart 1997 heb ik een Poster gemaakt met Marchall Chess (RS records). In de studio van z'n vader in Chicago hebben de Stones erg veel opnamen gemaakt in de jaren 60.

Dank Harmen!
