De lijst klopt en de nummers 10 t/m 1 worden in dit uur gedraaid. Op ongeveer 34 minuten een 'overzicht' van de lijst.

Thanks, Vincent.

This is not the Top 30 from 13 September 1970, but the Mark Wesley show from a Sunday in May 1970 (I think 17 May 1970) from about 15.47 to 16.48. There are a number of chart records played (Frijid Pink at no. 4, White Plains at no 8, Vanity Fare at no. 9, Norman Greenbaum at no. 7, Elvis Presley at no. 29 and Christie at no. 2), if that helps to confirm the date.

The first day with test-broadcasts on 244 meter was on May 13th, 1970. In the programme Mark said that it's a 'Sunday'. I agree with Mike that this recording is from Sunday, May 17th. I also believe that this recording is from medium wave (244mtr). Reason: In 1970 RNI only broadcast on 9940kHz between August 5th and September 24th.

best wishes, Hans

No problem Eric. Some programmes are very difficult. I also make mistakes. Fortunately, we can help each other. The right date of the programme you mention is:

Michael Lindsay is from 11 September 1970. A familiar recording, but one of the best from Michael Lindsay.

This one is very interesting. The first 30 minutes is Carl Mitchell, but from later than 23 August 1970. Carl plays "Our World" by Blue Mink and says that it is a former Stephen Ladd hitpick. This was Stephen's hitpick in the week commencing 30 August 1970. Also Carl says that "Ball of confusion" by the Temptations is at no. 24 in the Top 30, which it was in the week commencing 13 September 1970, so this recording, which is from 00.00 to 00.30, must be from the period 14 to 16 September 1970, although there is no clue in the programme as to the day of the week.

The final 14 minutes is Andy Archer from 9.30 to 9.44 on 23 August 1970. Andy says that it is a Sunday morning and "Something" by Shirley Bassey is at no. 4, which it was in the week from 16 to 23 August 1970, so, as this programme was immediately before the new Top 30 at midday, it must be 23 August.

Michael
