The first 3 recordings are actually from exactly one year earlier, i.e. 23rd December 1988.

 

This was the "sponsored fast" day, ostensibly an event to raise funds for the Clapham rail disaster appeal.

 

Actually, there was almost no food on board. It was a coded way for the on-board staff to transmit their dissatisfaction with the "lack of supplies" situation.

 

A tender arrived early morning on Christmas Day.
