Mandingo - Medicine Man. Een nummer gecomponeerd door Roger Webb dat in 1973 werd uitgebracht en geproduceerd werd door Norman Newell. De plaat kwam uit op het EMI label. De muziek van Mandingo werd veel gebruikt als demonstratieplaat in muziekwinkels en op veel hifi-shows. Het nummer Medicine Man werd gebruikt op Radio Mi Amigo in 1975 en is een promo over de allereerste Offshore reünie in Saint Valéry en Caux in de zomer van 1975 georganiseerd door Offshore Echos France. From OEM: FREE RADIO’S FINAL DAYS No one knew at the time, that when deejay Neil Gates, closed down Radio Caroline for the night in the early hours of 5th November 1990, that it would be the last time that Caroline would be heard as a free radio station broadcasting from the international waters of the North Sea. From Dawn Valley, the confrontation with Spectrum radio and draconian legislation within the Broadcasting Bill, to free radio’s final days. Radio Caroline’s founder Ronan O’Rahilly said at the time that “Caroline has come to symbolise a battle for individual freedom. We are probably the last institution on the planet that is absolutely free”, saying it is not possible to change Caroline's nautical setting, adding “You can't create or institutionalise Radio Caroline. You can’t lay down some Government's legislation to make a nice sanitised Caroline on land. You can't do it”. C’était l’époque de Dawn Valley, de la confrontation avec Spectrum Radio et du face à face avec un projet de loi draconien sur la radiodiffusion, pour aboutir aux derniers jours de la radio libre en mer. Le fondateur de Radio Caroline, Ronan O'Rahilly, disait à l'époque : "Radio Caroline incarne et symbolise une bataille pour la liberté d’expression. Nous sommes probablement la dernière institution sur la planète à être absolument libre". En ajoutant qu'il est impossible de modifier l’attachement de Caroline à la mer, précisant "Vous ne pouvez pas créer ou institutionnaliser Radio Caroline. Vous ne pouvez pas vous plier à la législation de certains gouvernements en faisant une belle Caroline bien aseptisée à terre. Vous ne pouvez pas le faire".
