De in 1928 in Nürnberg geboren Duitse componist, pianist, orkestleider en arrangeur heeft tal van platen met zijn orkest opgenomen waaronder ‘World Cup Fanfare 1974’ op het RCA label. Dit ter gelegenheid van de eindronden van het Wereldkampioenschap Voetbal dat in dat jaar in Duitsland werd gehouden.. Het was onder meer de tune van de Atlantis Top 40 in 1974. Ook Ferry Maat op Radio Noordzee gebruikte het een tijdje in 1974 als tune in ‘Herry met Ferry’. De derde vernoeming betreft Ferry Eden, die het als tune gebruikte voor de Nederlandse top 40 op Radio Mi Amigo in 1978. In het voorjaar van 1978 werd er een nieuwe versie van de commercial voor Frans Vlaeminck geïntroduceerd op Radio Mi Amigo. Ook daar kwam de muziek van de ‘World Cup Fanfare 1974’ voorbij. Het werd verder onder meer gebruikt door Eric Mess als tune op Radio Mi Amigo 272 en wel tijdens de Tipparade in 1979. This on the occasion of the final rounds of the World Cup Finals that were held in Germany that year. It was among others the tune of the Atlantis Top 40 in 1974.
